The Office of Career Services functions as a centralized unit providing career development, job search tools and opportunities to help support student success, as well as offer support to all academic departments and colleges at Austin Peay State University. Our programs and services are designed to complement and enhance the operations of the Division of Student Affairs and 365bet.
Our mission is to assist students in making a successful transition from academia to the world of work by equipping them with the tools to take ownership of their professional and personal development for lifelong career satisfaction.
Services Available for Students and Alumni
If you are confused about what major to declare, you think it is time for a change, or you need assistance and direction in finding a career path that is best for you, our career counselors are ready to help guide you through this process. Through one-on-one conversations, assessments, and using other resources, a career counselor can guide you through the career or major decision-making process. Pick up a copy of our Resume and Cover Letter writing guide in our office or check out an online version under Resources. You can submit your resume, cover letter, personal statement or other application materials for jobs or graduate schools to careerservices@live63.net at your convenience for review. Please submit your documents as a Word attachment to the email. We also offer resume and cover letter appointments for students and alumni seeking more personalized assistance. Do you get nervous in job interviews? Not sure how to answer those tough questions employers ask you? Career Services is here to help! We offer one-on-one mock interview sessions as well as opportunities for you to practice with employers during our Mock Interview Days. Browse local, regional and national job listings on Handshake. Positions range from on-campus student employment and graduate assistantships, as well as part-time, full-time and internship opportunities. Current students and alumni can access Handshake. You can also schedule an appointment to meet one-on-one in-person or virtually with a career advisor to begin you job search. There are a variety of events hosted throughout each semester to connect with a variety of hiring opportunities and assist you in professional and career development. You might even come away with free food and other giveaways.
