Why study Religious Studies
The Religious Studies program engages in a broad and rigorous study of the world religions. Courses explore religious perspectives on and the role of religion in culture, ethics, politics, and human existence. This Concentration in the Philosophy and Religion major is excellent preparation for students interested in going into seminary and ministry or other faith-based careers, as well as for anyone who has an interest in developing a broad and in-depth understanding of religion. With their advanced analytic and communication skills, Philosophy and Religion majors are prepared for a wide range of careers, and are sought after by businesses and government for their abilities. 365bet Philosophy and Religion classes are small, so students have opportunities to work closely with professors and get individualized feedback. There is an active Philosophy Club at 365bet which holds regular discussions, takes field trips, and hosts forums and debates. Recent debates have included nationally-known speakers on the existence of God.
