- In Jan. 2020, 365bet was awarded the Governor's Investment in Vocational Education (GIVE) entitled, "Bridge to Work" Grant ($300,000). I am the Co-PI for the grant (Jan. 2020 - June 2022), along with Matthew Anderson, which impacts the high schools in counties of Houston, Stewart, and Montgomery. One of the deliverables is the Summer Manufacturing Institute.

During 2013-16, several honors capstone research and hands-on projects have been successfully completed by students in the various engineering and computer science disciplines.

The implementation of two NSF funded Black Hawk College (BHC) Sign Lighting Projects, one using solar panels and the other using solar panels / wind turbine (hybrid) - 2009.

Presentation and Demonstration of the NSF Simulator/Calculator to the Board of Directors - Fall 2009.

The local newspaper, The Dispatch / Argus, published an article titled “BHC Professor creates Educational Calculator for energy systems” that encouraged educators to obtain the free NSF learning modules for use in community college / University classrooms. The article was picked up by a national organization, “ASEE first bell.” resulting in requests for the learning modules from all over the U.S. / Canada. Around 1000 benefitted.

National Public Radio (NPR), several local TV channels, and the newspaper carried stories about the two-renewable energy-powered BHC Sign Lighting Projects, generating interest in the local school districts and the community as a whole.

"Innovations in Engineering Technology Education" grant sponsored by NSF was assigned a booth at the 2010 ATE PI (Advanced Technological Education Principal Investigator’s) conference @ Washington DC on Oct. 2010 for the purpose of dissemination. I demonstrated / presented the Simulator / Calculator to the participants. Educators received a free copy at the conference. The Conference was sponsored by the AACC (American Association of Community Colleges).

Presented a paper titled “Innovations in Engineering and Energy Technologies” to an international audience at the 2010 STEMtech Conference, Orlando, Florida. The audience participated in the demonstration of an interactive, instructional tool that incorporates energy simulators and calculators. All conference participants received a free copy. The conference was sponsored by the “League for Innovation in Community Colleges”.
